Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train - Woodstock
It is called "The Restaurant With The Constantly Changing View." --- And what a view from three unique dining cars.
It is recognized as one of the premiere dinner trains in the country. Enjoy a two-hour trip, 20 mile trip through fields and forest along the banks of the picturesque Pemigewasset River. Savor a five course meal against a Mother Nature's backdrop of ever-changing scenery. Located in the heart of the majestic White Mountains.
There is the 1952 Pullman Planetarium car, named the Granite Eagle, an unique tri-level car with an upper observation dome that also has windows fore and aft, giving the diner views from every direction.
There are also two coach-level sections, with sunken lounge. This car was the very first DOME car to enter New Hampshire when brought from Kansas by rail in the winter of 1995.
The Algonquin is a 1953 X-CNR Cafe coach, with spacious and open interior perfect for private parties, weddings, corporate events and busgroups.
The Indian Waters, is an exquisite 1924 Pullman-Standard Victorian Coach, filled with brass, stained glass and deeply aged woods.
Reservations are recommended.
Open late-May through October.
Canoe
I love this restaurant. Food in excellent, the decore Laky as you would expect by its name. And you can get there by boat by going to the town docks and being shuttled to the restaurant nearby. Enjoy porch dining, valet shuttle service from CH town docks, on and off premises catering, private function rooms. Sit back, Relax, and Enjoy! Open Year-round. There is another one in Bedford, which I have not been to, but I am sure it is great at 216 S.River Rd Bedford.
Garwoods Restaurant & Pub
- Wolfeboro
One of the fancier places overlooking Wolfeboro Bay in the heart of Wolfeboro known as "America's Oldest Summer Resort" - with boat access, enjoy a great meal with spectacular views! Raw bar, great sandwiches, pasta, seafood and classic entrées will make this a dining experience to remember.
O Bistro at The Inn on Main
One of teh best restaurants in Wolfeboro. Run by the people who own Canoe in Meredith, another great place to dine. Excellent food and atmosphere. Go to the O.
O Steaks & Seafood at Lake Opechee Inn
A restaurant with a simple name--"O". Experience sophisticated dining overlooking Lake Opechee. I have never been disappointed there. Hand cut steaks, fresh seafood complemented by unique wine cellar of wines and martinis.
Serving lunch Monday - Friday 11:30am - 2:30pm.
Serving dinner daily at 5:00pm.
THE CARRIAGE HOUSE RESTAURANT
I love The Carriage House Restaurant--part of the Castle of the Couds museum. It is in what use to be a Carriage House where you may sit in what use to be prized horses lived. The incredible mountain top setting provides a dining experience unlike any other. its Bistro style cafe offers an eclectic variety of original recipes, classics and twists on old favorites. Always good. It is open every day during regular season.

The New Woodshed

The original Wood Shed was an institution in the Lakes Region until it tragically burned down. The New Woodshed is a huge updated version of the original
At The New Woodshed, fine dining gets a charming, comfortable twist inside a restored circa 1820 New England post-and-beam barn. We pride ourselves on exceptional service and atmosphere, and you’ll want to linger at your table as you enjoy some of the area’s finest steaks and seafood beneath exposed hand-hewn timbers and antique barn board.
You will enjoy the food as much as the atmosphere.
Tumbledown Restaurant
Very cool place. The food is hot. Farm to Table Fare. Tied into the Tumbledown Farm in Brookfield NH. You can't go wrong here!
