It has  Merrymeeting Marina which is the meeting place for all to gather for ice cream, fish stories and to launch or store your boat. the family It's outlet is the Merrymeeting River, past the Fish Hatchery flowing south and eventually northwest to Lake Winnipesaukee. NH Fish and Game stocks the lake with fish with the Powder Mill Fish Hatchery bringing new trout to the lake.  It is located just beyond where North Shore and South Shore road connect--almost circling both sides of the lake but do not connect. There are a lot of curves on these roads. Keeping your car on the road slower--to spend more time looking at the incredible views.
